If you Google “800-679-0336”, Kudzu Files comes up at number 7. To help out those who come this way because they’ve gotten those obnoxious calls, here’s the post you’re looking for. And no, I haven’t gotten any more calls.

I don’t know if your employer knows about this site. If they don’t, ignore this.

I am familiar with the policies of private enterprises and government agencies that prohibit the making of personal telephone calls on employer-issued cell phones. From reading the accounts of people on whocalled.us, they use a shotgun approach to calling people. They seem to start at NPA-NXX-0000 and dial sequentially to NPA-NXX-9999. Except in the state of Missouri.

Now if they are doing this, eventually they will also call the cellphones of your fellow government employees. Now, if the telecommunications department of you agency tells the employees that if they receive a call (even if no one speaks after the call is answered) from the Dove Foundation, they should log call details and order Dove not to call back. Dove’s system doesn’t seem to understand the demand to stop calling if you have a ham sandwich in you mouth (hint, hint).

If some government agency’s telecommunications department is able to document repeated nuisance calls, this provides a shooting-fish-in-a-barrel easy case for that state’s Attorney General. The Missouri Attorney General already took them to the cleaners for $70,000.
