No Snow, No Ice

Not complaining about no ice, but some snow would have been fun. Just cold, although as often happens here, the actual event is a bit more moderate than the forecast. Instead of 10F, we’ll be around 15. We still probably won’t be above freezing until Sunday afternoon, which is very, very unusual in central Mississippi. I had a flat of pansies I was going to plant, but pulled them into the garage last night, because even if pansies don’t really care, I do, and I won’t want to be working in the yard this weekend. It will be very interesting to see what comes back and what doesn’t, it’s been nearly 25 years since we’ve had something like this. Lots of gardeners here will be re-introduced to the concept of “tender perennial”, and I bet garden center sales are up come April. Meanwhile, I’m bundled up and I think I have the house as bundled as I can get it. I think I’ll just read and watch movies this weekend.
